Chiemgau Kaktus, Michael Kiessling

In the village of Pittenhart in Germany, Michael Kiessling and Helmut will welcome you to their magnificent greenhouses.

Beautiful surprises await lovers of rustic and temperate cacti. Many species, sown and cuttings by Michael, grow on site. He also produces his own hybrids such as an Echinocereus coccineus x apachensis that I was able to acquire. The quality of the plants and the availability   of Mr. Kiessling as well as his hospitality mean that I can only recommend going to visit them. Preferably at the beginning of June to take advantage of the blooms! 

Practical aspects 

  • Open Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except official holidays

  • Plan 3 to 4 hours of visit on site

  • Travel time of 6h30 from the Friborg region by car. Plan one night there (I recommend the Zum Schieldhauer hotel in Halfing)
