The Botanical Garden of Bern is a green oasis in the heart of the Swiss capital. Founded in 1860, the garden extends over several hectares and is home to an incredible variety of plants from all parts of the world. Plant collection : The garden contains more than 6000 plant species. Among the most remarkable collections are alpine plants, succulents, medicinal plants and tropical species, which are presented in several greenhouses.
Greenhouses : The tropical and subtropical greenhouses offer an insight into exotic climate zones with a variety of rare and valuable plants such as orchids and ferns. The succulent house will delight lovers of cacti and other herbaceous plants. Finally, the palm house displays a magnificent specimen of the giant water lily and trees from all over the world.
