Writer's picture: Vincent ZimmermannVincent Zimmermann

Porrentruy, a town in the Jura with a population of 6500, has a very interesting botanical garden. Here you will find a tropical greenhouse, an orchid house, a greenhouse for carnivores, tillandsias and bromeliads and, of course, a cactus house. The Porrentruy Botanical Garden was founded in 1799 and is one of the oldest in Switzerland. It is located in the heart of the old town, near the former Jesuit college, and covers an area of 1.1 hectares. Take the opportunity to visit the old town as you pass by.
